In her new solo exhibition, Hattie Lee Mendoza explores identity, ancestry, and cultural memory through richly layered textile and mixed media works. Drawing from her Cherokee heritage alongside a broader diasporic experience, Mendoza creates compositions that merge fiber, collage, and abstraction into a deeply personal visual language. Through processes of weaving, repurposing, and reimagining materials, her work reflects the complexities of cultural inheritance while celebrating the beauty found within interconnected histories and evolving identities.
