Featuring works by a group of American artists- all born in the 19th Century, who were advocates of the avant-garde and introduced modernism to the United States. Yet these artists continue in their careers despite the explosive response to Abstraction from the 1940’s on.
Including paintings and works on paper by Marguerite Zorach, Max Weber, Harold Weston and Rebecca Salsbury James
and sculpture by Saul Baizerman, John Flannagan, Paul Manship, Gaston Lachaise and William Zorach.
